30 Years Old...

I never thought that I would be quite so depressed by my 30th birthday as I am. Life just flies by way too quickly. It feels like just yesterday that I was standing in the kitchen of the house on Wellesley, super excited about turning 7 and feeling like I would never get to be a grown up. I wish that as a child, we knew that being a grown up is not as exciting as it seems. Don't get me wrong, I feel that I lived every moment of my childhood to the best of my ability, but I would give anything to not have to worry about bills and responsibility for while. No matter how much I wish that I am not turning 30, there is no escape for the reality. I will officially leave my 20's behind tomorrow. I am spending my last night as a 29 year old at dinner with my parents, husband and brother. Tomorrow, my closet friends will support me with a day of distraction. We rented a pontoon boat and plan to spend the day at Brookville lake. I am looking forward to having a relaxing birthday. Someone at work told me today that I am not actually turning 30, but instead I am celebrating the 1st anniversary of my 29th birthday. I am going to stick with that story. 29 again sounds so much better.

Outer Banks...

Dave and I just returned from a wonderful vacation to Nags Head, NC with some of our closest friends. It was a relaxing week on the beach with Shanon, Fran, Owen, Rob, Rebecca and Jalynn. We kept it very tame, mostly laying out on the beach or at the pool. I did a lot of reading and we played a lot of Cribbage. Fran and I did get to go parasailing one day, which I was excited about since I had never been before. It was really pretty being up so high. You could see clear over the outer banks to the ocean, from the sound where we were sailing. Owen got to go with us on the motor boat and he loved it! It was all Dave and and Shannon could do to keep him from climbing over the front rails of the boat. Very cute. I am sad to be home and not excited about going back to work tomorrow, but it was nice to get home to see my puppies. Max gained 5 pounds while we were gone, he is almost as big as Charlotte now. I think they were excited to have us home as well.
