Babysitting Sam...

So my New Year's resolution was to try to keep more up to date on this blog, however as it is now February... I think I failed at that goal. But, the reality is that our 2009 has been relatively boring so far. (Which I suppose is not necessarily a bad thing.)
Dave and I did have a bit of an interesting Valentine's Day though. I am one of those who firmly believes that Valentine's Day is a dumb holiday... more work than it is worth. (No offense to those who celebrate.) So anyway, since Dave and I don't celebrate, we decided to help our good friends Shannon and Fran celebrate. Shannon and Fran just had their 2nd baby on 1/28, so he is still pretty little. Fran's parents had agreed to take Owen (the 2 year old) for the night, but couldn't handle both of the little rugrats. So Dave and I offered to take Sam for the night, who was only 2 1/2 weeks old at that point, so Shannon and Fran could get a good night sleep.
Sam is such a sweet, snuggly baby. He is just a little confused on his days and nights still. He only slept for 2-3 hours at a time over night, but then zonked out from 7:30-12... and would probably not awoke then if his parents had not come to pick him up. Anyway, we were tired the next day... I feel for Shannon and Fran with both a newborn and a 2 year old at home. It was fun though and very cute seeing Dave sitting on the couch holding the little peanut.
Charlotte and Max did better than I thought they would, although Max was a tad bit jealous. He had to be laying in the lap of whoever was holding the baby. When Sam would make his little noises, Max would stick his nose right in his face. I am not sure he knew what to think of the little guy.
